Thanksgiveaway 2025: Sharing Our Table

The table is set for yet another Thanksgiving. For some, it’s a group effort—a beautiful tapestry of traditional, homemade dishes brought by family, from cousins and parents to grandparents. These dishes aren’t trendy; they are tradition, shared again and again.

Other tables are set simply and modestly, perhaps by a new bride trying out her cookbooks and cookware, hoping to impress the in-laws. And still other tables are set by callused hands and broken hearts—hardworking families struggling this season. To all of you, we at Soulman’s want you to know we are there with you.

A Legacy of Thanksgiving

In the first three years Soulman’s was open, all holidays were celebrated right there in the store. The young family was too busy smoking the meats and making the sides to take them home. They hunkered down in the booths and at the tables, enjoying their Thanksgiving right there.

From those humble beginnings, we fast-forward to a season where Soulman’s now has 21 locations in the DFW area. Each one carries the charm and tradition of the original, bringing Texas barbecue to old-timers and new recruits across generations. Soulman’s has truly become part of the Thanksgiving tradition for many.

Soulman’s Gives Back

It only makes sense that Soulman’s heart would lead us to share our table with those most in need this Thanksgiving. We are profoundly thankful for every person who has sat at our tables, savored our meals, and shared them with loved ones time and time again over the last 50 years.

Our table is never just our own; it’s an extension of yours, sharing the same food, the same traditions, and the same community spirit.

A Thanksgiveaway for the History Books

The Thanksgiveaway Tradition started at Soulman’s 10 years ago with the desire to share our thankfulness with the community. As a neighborhood staple for over five decades, it made sense to share with those who need it most at this thankful time of the year.

In 2025, this tradition reached a new high: Soulman’s was able to bless 42 families in the DFW region with a complete Thanksgiving family meal! Each family had been nominated by a friend or loved one who was moved by their need for this special dinner.

This year’s Thanksgiveaway dinner for 10–12 included:

  • Our signature cornbread dressing
  • Mashed potatoes with brown gravy
  • Cranberry sauce
  • Green beans
  • Spiral-cut ham
  • King’s Hawaiian Rolls

To all our faithful fans, our new fans, and those who are trying us for the first time, we wish you a beautiful holiday surrounded by those who love you most—the warmth of a table set with love, surrounded by hope, and the joy that can only come from our Lord.
