May 16, 2023, Royse City, TX- On what would have been her 102nd birthday, May 20, 2023, family-owned and operated Soulman’s Bar-B-Que is honoring the memory of matriarch Mary Alice ‘Memer’ Hallett, who peacefully passed away on March 7, 2023, with a piece of her pie to accompany each of the first 102 meals ordered at each of their of 19 North Texas locations, while supplies last.
“When Soulman’s Bar-B-Que opened their doors on October 19th, 1974, Ms. Hallett’s homemade recipes were the foundation of the menu, including her melt-in-your-mouth Buttermilk Pie, “says CEO Brett Randle. “Family recipes and family values have been passed down through multiple generations, making Soulman’s a staple in North Texas for our commitment to great food and traditions. Honoring Memer and the place she held in our strong family business is best served with a piece of her culinary legacy.
